Founded by a team of fintech operators (previous business raised $170m from PayPal, Amex, JPMorgan and others), Recorder is bringing the speed and flexibility of modern SaaS to commercial insurance. Just over twelve months old, we've signed leading brokers and FTSE 100 insurers, and we're scaling fast.
We're hiring an Account Manager to own the relationships that matter most after a deal is signed. You'll be the person clients call when something needs to change, escalate, or move faster. You'll run renewals, drive adoption, spot expansion opportunities, and make sure every client feels like they're getting more from Recorder over time not less.
This is a relationship role with real commercial teeth. You won't be doing check-in calls for the sake of it. You'll be deepening client value, flagging risks before they become problems, and working closely with sales, delivery, and product to make clients sticky and successful.
You'll be a great fit if you:
Build trust with senior people quickly. You can run a board-level review one day and a hands-on onboarding session the next.
Spot an upsell without it ever feeling like a push. You understand what clients actually need before they've articulated it.
Are commercially sharp. You know what a renewal is worth, what churn costs, and how to have a difficult pricing conversation without losing the relationship.
Write and communicate with clarity. You can distil a complex client situation into a crisp internal briefing or a clear client-facing summary.
Take ownership without being chased. If a client has a problem, you find out about it before they tell you.
Are comfortable with ambiguity. You'll be one of the first AMs at Recorder, which means building the playbook as much as running it.

(Bonus) Have worked in insurance at either a broker, MGA, carrier, or insurtech and understand how these businesses work from the inside.
(Bonus) Have experience with SaaS account management or customer success in a B2B environment.
What you'll do:
Own a portfolio of broker and MGA clients from go-live onwards. Be the main point of contact and the person who keeps relationships healthy.
Run structured account reviews. Understand adoption, flag risks, and identify where Recorder can do more for each client.
Lead renewals and expansions. Work with the commercial team to ensure contracts reflect the value clients are getting.
Collaborate closely with the delivery team on implementations and go-lives. Make sure clients land well.
Feed client intelligence back into product and marketing patterns in requests, blockers to adoption, feature gaps, competitive pressure.
Build the playbook for account management at Recorder. We're early enough that your approach will shape how we do this at scale.
