Job Title: Commercial Associate

Recorder is rebuilding commercial insurance from the ground up. Brokers are stuck with legacy tools and manual workflows. We're giving them the modern software they deserve: user-first workflows, clean data, no repetition. Fast, flexible infrastructure that actually works.
Founded by a team of fintech operators (previous business raised $170m from PayPal, Amex, JPMorgan and others), Recorder is bringing the speed and flexibility of modern SaaS to commercial insurance. Just over twelve months old, we've signed leading brokers and FTSE 100 insurers, and we're scaling fast.
We're hiring a Commercial Associate to sit across client work, implementation, and go-to-market. You'll be the person who makes prospects and clients feel looked after, the deals move faster, and the work behind every meeting is done properly. You'll run prep, own follow-ups, scope implementations, and build the materials that go out to brokers and MGAs.
This is a generalist role by design. The scope will shape itself around where you're strongest. You'll learn the product, the buyers, and the market from the inside, and you'll do real work from week one.
You'll be a great fit if you:
Write sharply in plain English. You can take a messy conversation and turn it into a one-page note that a CEO can act on.
Are quick on your feet with senior insurance people. You hold your own in a room without pretending to know things you don't.
Are curious about how brokers and MGAs actually make money. You want to understand the business, not just the software.
Take ownership without being asked. If something needs doing, you do it.
Are comfortable with ambiguity. The role will change shape as you find your strengths and as the business grows.
Want to work in a high-energy, low-meetings, full-time in-office environment in Farringdon, London.
(Bonus) Have insurance experience — broker, MGA, carrier, or insurance M&A.
(Bonus) Have built things — prototypes, side projects, anything that shows you make rather than just think.
What you'll do:
Run prospect and client research. Build the pre-read for every meeting that matters.
Sit in on client and prospect calls. Own the follow-ups, the actions, and the materials that come out the other side.
Help scope and run implementations alongside the delivery team. Track them through to go-live.
Build the collateral that goes out to brokers and MGAs — proposals, configuration notes, training materials, case studies.
Spot patterns across clients and prospects. Feed them back into product, marketing, and sales.
Partner with the founders and the commercial team on live deals where an extra set of hands and a sharp brain change the outcome.
