Email Integration ✉️ | Indicative Quoting 🏷️ | MGAA Broker Exchange & The Insurance Network DA Strategy Day 🎪

February Recap:
Email Integration
During February we launched Recorder Email Integration, allowing clients to connect their email accounts directly to Recorder. Messages and attachments can now be captured automatically and linked to the relevant client, risk, placement, or policy record in real time.
Insurance workflows still run heavily through email. Submissions arrive there, negotiations happen there, and critical documents often live there. Until now, those communications had to be manually filed or copied into systems, creating gaps in audit trails and lost data. Recorder now handles this automatically.
What this enables
Complete audit trail
All relevant communications are captured and attached to the correct record, supporting FCA record-keeping and conduct requirements.
Less manual administration
Emails, attachments, and key data are automatically indexed and linked, removing routine filing and reducing rekeying.
Structured data from unstructured communication
Submissions, endorsements, and documents arriving by email can now be connected directly to the underlying risk or policy data in Recorder.
Better visibility for teams
Colleagues can see the full client communication history without searching inboxes or forwarding chains.
Existing clients will receive access to this capability over the coming weeks, alongside a short setup guide.

March focus:
Indicative Quoting
In March we are introducing Indicative Quoting, allowing brokers to obtain rapid price indications (VRIs) directly within Recorder.
For many placements, the first question is simple: is this risk broadly viable and at roughly what price? Today that usually requires emails, calls, or partially completed submissions. Indicative Quoting removes that friction.
By using sensible default responses and pre-configured underwriting rules, brokers can generate non-bindable pricing indications instantly, before committing time to a full submission.
What this enables
Faster early-stage triage
Brokers can quickly assess whether a market is likely to engage before preparing a full submission.
Earlier client conversations
Brokers can discuss realistic pricing ranges with clients sooner in the placement process.
Faster Market Placement
In the coming months, we’ll be adding more and more new MGA connections that allow brokers to send risks and receive quotes without moving between portals or duplicating submissions.
A single structured risk capture can now reach multiple underwriting markets, reducing placement friction and speeding up time to quote.
Events
We will be exhibiting at the MGAA broker exchange on the 12th of March. We looking forward to meeting with existing clients and partners and making some new connections. Please come and see us at Booth 2.

We will be sponsoring the digital technology session at The Insurance Network’s Delegated Authority Strategy Day on the 23rd of April.

Customer Stories
Lycetts is a leading UK-based chartered insurance broker and financial services provider that specialises in providing tailored insurance and risk management advice to farming, rural estate, equine, and commercial clients. Alongside open market broking, Lycetts operates a rapidly growing scheme and delegated underwriting operation with some of the UK’s most comprehensive Rural community insurance products.
The problem: Legacy technology holding back growth and profitability
The core underlying problems were:
Fragmented Operational Workflows: Lycetts scheme business had struggled with a disjointed underwriting journey, lacking a unified process for handling quote requests, referrals, rating, policy issuance, MTAs and renewals.
Slow Delivery Timelines and Rating Restrictions: Lycetts previous technology partner was slow to deliver and could not handle the rating for the largest and most complex cases.
Inefficient Internal Communication: Communication gaps existed between the underwriting and broking teams, hindering the flow of information across different parts of the business.
Lack of Task Visibility: Without a dedicated platform, the management of daily workloads and ongoing tasks was manually intensive, time consuming and difficult to track effectively for audit purposes.
Why Lycetts Chose Recorder
Recorder was selected because their platform provides Lycetts growing underwriting team with a modern software platform to help increase underwriting capacity, flexibility and control over building and maintaining delegated underwriting authority products while offering an integrated solution for managing the end-to-end underwriting journey.
Recorder was able to rebuild the entire Farms & Estates product natively on the platform, including underwriting logic, workflows, rating, and documentation, without simplifying the risk or dumbing down the product.
• Product delivered in under 3 months
• Full replacement of the Excel-based underwriting model
• Native handling of large, complex SoVs
• End-to-end underwriting workflow built around how Lycetts internal process work.

The outcomes
The project delivered a comprehensive digital transformation which has streamlined the entire schemes underwriting lifecycle. Key highlights of the implementation included:
End-to-End Workflow Integration: Automating the journey from initial quote request and rating to policy inception, renewals, and work management. The time taken to underwrite a case has reduced by 85%.
Enhanced Connectivity: Improving digital interfaces with broking teams to facilitate more efficient business interactions.
Reducing Trading Friction and Time to Quote: These efficiencies have led to a material increase in GWP run rate, without adding underwriting headcount.
Empowered Rating Control: Deploying a flexible rating engine that allows for rapid changes and seamless maintenance, giving the underwriting team greater control over product agility.
This partnership has provided Lycetts with a scalable, future-proof platform that enhances day-to-day operations and supports their long-term strategic growth plans.
“The Recorder team have been an absolute pleasure to deal with and have delivered on all the promises made, unusual in the world of tech!”
Colin Sadler, Technical & Placement Director
